Deep-Tech Laser Innovator Quantec Raises ¥100 Million from Gogin Capital
The investment will accelerate infrastructure expansion for production and testing, as well as talent acquisition, to fulfill large-scale orders in cutting-edge sectors like next-generation semiconductor packaging and EVs.

Quantec Inc. (Headquarters: Machida, Tokyo; CEO: Hideo Jotaki)—a deep-tech startup specializing in the physics-based analysis and optimal design of laser processes—has successfully raised ¥100 million in a third-party allotment. The investment was underwritten by the Gogin Goen-musubi No. 1 Investment Limited Partnership, managed by Gogin Capital Co., Ltd.
Following our previous funding round in April 2026, we have received a higher-than-anticipated volume of inquiries for large-scale mass production projects, each valued in the hundreds of millions of yen annually. This latest capital injection will be heavily deployed to ensure the seamless delivery of these major projects by significantly expanding our production capacity (manufacturing infrastructure), upgrading our demonstration and testing facilities, and aggressively scaling our workforce.
The Quantec Advantage: A “Process-First” Approach
Unlike conventional “hardware-dependent” approaches constrained by existing light sources or equipment, Quantec employs a unique “process-first” methodology. We reverse-engineer the ideal laser parameters—such as wavelength, pulse width, power, and irradiation conditions—based entirely on the desired manufacturing outcome.
This source-agnostic design philosophy frees us from vendor lock-in. By optimally combining commercially available light sources, we simultaneously achieve unprecedented quality, cost-efficiency, and throughput. Even for highly complex processing that traditionally required expensive ultrashort pulse lasers, our optimized control of more affordable nanosecond lasers presents a game-changing alternative.
Purpose of Funding
The newly acquired funds will primarily be allocated to strengthening our production foundation and validation frameworks to sustain rapid growth:
1. Expanding production capacity and infrastructure to fulfill large-scale orders
We will invest heavily in manufacturing infrastructure—including upgraded power systems and advanced testing equipment—to drastically boost our production capacity. This will enable the concurrent and timely design, assembly, and validation of multiple large-scale mass production systems.
2. Enhancing R&D and demonstration environments for cutting-edge laser processes
We are upgrading our laser processing validation facilities to support demonstrations and evaluations for state-of-the-art applications, such as next-generation semiconductor packaging (including advanced ABF and glass substrates) and electric vehicles (EVs).
3. Securing core talent to drive business expansion
To further optimize and aggregate data for our core “process parameter design” technology, we will accelerate the recruitment and development of top-tier process engineers and support staff.
Leadership Comments
Hideo Jotaki, CEO, Quantec Inc.
“Since our funding round this past April, we have received incredibly positive feedback from clients in bleeding-edge sectors like semiconductors and automotive. As a result, commercialization projects for mass-production equipment are materializing at a scale and velocity that has surpassed our expectations. This funding serves as vital growth capital, allowing us to proactively scale our production capacity and advanced demonstration environments ahead of these massive orders. Welcoming Gogin Capital as our new partner empowers us to fortify our manufacturing base, bring exceptional talent on board, and ultimately make our laser processing a standard in modern manufacturing.”
